SEATTLE: OLYMPIC SCULPTURE PARK AND GAS WORKS PARK

Mary and I were back in Seattle this past weekend and we went to two great attractions: The Olympic Sculpture Park located at 2901 Western Avenue which is located right on the water. It was a beautiful, clear, and very windy day. The mountains across the white-capped water were covered in snow. Mt. Rainer loomed in the distance. The Richard Serra sculpture "Wake" was just fantastic. Definitely go see this if you are in downtown Seattle. We also enjoyed walking in Gas Works Park. A 19 acre park located at the former Seattle Gas and Light Company gasification plant, located on the north shore of Lake Union.  A collection of ruins and reconditioned pieces of the old plant. Totally cool. There is also an artificial kite flying hill with an elaborately sculptured sundial. Both parks are worth checking out!
